Yesterday was Jon’s Birthday! I am REALLY into birthday’s (hence, Rory’s 1st birthday party) but Jon isn’t as into them as I am. I really wanted to to make sure that he had a great day because I want him to know how much we love and appreciate him; so I did everything the way he wanted. He wanted a cake from a mix, frosting from a jar, and finger foods for dinner. It killed me to use a cake mix and premade frosting but i did it for him.
He was still recovering from his PRK surgery so we didn’t go out and do anything special, so we made our time inside special. We had our wonderful friends over (and yes they actually ate our finger food dinner) and let our kids run wild and play. We are so lucky to have such great friends!
For a present, Jon just wants more work done on his tattoo, so I didn’t get him anything big, but Rory made him a nice card and we made him a shirt. Not just any shirt, a shirt he has been wanting for quite some time! Rory has this really goofy shirt with a big cat head on it and the cat is wearing an American Flag handkerchief. It is a sleeveless shirt and is just really funny. Jon loves it is always trying to look for a matching shirt so they can both look like they walked out of the trailer park together. So I made him a matching shirt, and he loved it!
I think Jon had a better day just doing nothing at home and spending time with our friends than if we would have gone out and done some all day long big activity.
Rory and I have such a great Daddy, we love him very much!
