Seperation Anxiety take 1

Saturday before Easter was a big day for the Nauss family.  It was the first time Jon and I EVER left Rory and spent time just the two of us.  It was HUGE for me!  Honestly, I have just never been ready to leave her for a few reasons.
  1. It is not that I don’t trust people with her- I do, I have great friends; however a lot of my friends also have children and adding one more child in the mix could be a deadly combination. And, Rory is VERY wild and high maintenance.  She needs to be watched and interacted with non stop so if someone is to watch her, I really want them to know what they are getting into- I want them to see how Rory is normally; how she is with her shoe, how she climbs on everything, how her daily routine is, etc...
  2. The thought of Rory waking up from a nap or falling down and getting hurt and wondering where her mommy is, horrifies me.
  3. I want Rory to be completely comfortable with who she is with, I don't want her to be scared!
Jon has really been wanting to go out and do something, just the two of us and has been encouraging me and informing me that “it is time,” to cut the umbilical cord and go; so I knew one way or another it was going to happen and I just needed to grin and bear it.

Every Friday one of my best friends, Katy comes over to play.  She is awesome because she LOVES Rory!  She has been coming over every Friday (and some weekends) for quite some time now and Rory loves it.  When ever I say, “Rory its Friday, what happens on Friday’s?” she will break out in her “Katy, Katy, Katy!”  So when Katy offered to watch Rory, Jon jumped on it.

We left for a 9am movie.  I texted Katy and asked for pictures every 15 minutes until we were home a little after 11.  Rory did great, they watched her in our house, Katy knew what to expect and how completely insane I am with Rory’s routine, and everything was great.  (on the other hand, it was completely awesome to watch a movie and actually hear what people were saying- and as an added bonus having an uninterrupted conversation with my husband in the car!)
I thought wow....this wasn’t that bad....I could do this again if I had to!

Or so I thought.....
