Halloween Food Continue- Eyeballs

Day 3 of our spooky Halloween Food!  Today we made one of Rory's favorite foods ever: EGGS!  Some days my child will eat 2 scrambled eggs or 3 hard boiled egg whites (she refuses to eat the hard boiled egg yolks).

I knew this would be an instant hit with Rory! 


EYEBALLS
  • Materials Needed for Eyeballs:
  • hard boiled eggs
  • materials to make deviled eggs (we used egg yolks, mustard, mayo, paprika, salt, pepper, and relish)
  • black olives
  • ketchup
  • toothpick
Hard boil your eggs.  (Bring eggs to a boil.  I normally boil them for 3-5 minuets, then turn off the heat and cover them.)  Cut he eggs in half lengthwise, and save the yolks.  
With the yolks, make deviled eggs.  (We mashed up the egg yolks with mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, a bit of paprika and some relish).  When you have finished making your deviled eggs, cut the olives.  With the olives laying on their side, slice very thin.  Rory had to sample every olive to make sure they all tasted ok!  These olives are your eyeballs!
Put a spoonful of the deviled eggs into the open egg yolk.  in the middle of the egg, place one of the olives.  Using the toothpick, place little squiggle lines outside the olive to make the eye look stressed.  



TIME TO EAT!!!
