Halloween Food Fun! Day 1: Mummy's!

We are one week closer to Halloween!!!!  MAny of you may know that I am a compulsive planner.  I will plan meals for the week, workouts for the week, trips to the doctor, and for holidays; I even plan about how I am going to plan things (it is a curse, I know!)  One thing I like to do in advance is try out recipes for the big day.

Normally, I like to go more scary for Halloween, but this year we are going to make three cute (not too spooky) dishes that Rory is going to love!  We are making; spooky apple mouths, marvelous mummy’s (since Rory really likes mummy’s lately), and wild eyeballs!

Today we are going to do Mummy's....
  • Materials Needed for Mummy’s:
  • refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • hotdogs (or veggie dogs)
  • knife
  • toothpicks
  • mustard

To make the mummy’s, we cut our hotdogs in half, but you can use the whole hot dog if you want.  We cut our crescent roll dough into little strips and then just wrapped them around the hot dogs like a mummy.  (Rory sampled the dough, but spit it out quickly!)  Make sure to leave a little slit at the top for the mummy’s eyes.

Bake them in the oven according to the crescent roll directions.  When they come out, using a toothpick put little dots on the hot dog for the mummy’s eyes.

Tomorrow is Apple Mouths!!!!
